Frequently asked questions

What is DMS Agent?

A dealer management system (DMS) for independent used-car dealers and buy-here-pay-here operators: inventory, deal desking, account servicing and collections, Florida deal paperwork, and agentic AI with direct, governed access to that data — in one web application.

Who is it built for?

Small and mid-sized independent used-car dealerships and BHPH dealers who carry their own notes. It is not aimed at franchise dealer groups.

How much does it cost?

A flat monthly subscription with no long-term contract and no per-seat fees. Early-access pricing is available on request at support@dms-agent.com.

Which states does it support?

DMS Agent currently serves Florida dealerships — Florida forms, county surtax, and DMV workflows are built in. Dealers in other states can join the waitlist.

Do I need to install anything?

No. DMS Agent runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install or update, and your team can sign in from anywhere with an internet connection.

Does it support buy-here-pay-here?

Yes, whether you carry every note or only a few. DMS Agent desks BHPH deals with payment schedules solved to the cent and dealer-set guardrails, then services the resulting accounts: payments, receipts, late fees, pay-ahead handling, and a prioritized collections worklist.

Does it replace my accounting software?

No. DMS Agent tracks what each customer owes and has paid — payments, receipts, late fees, and payoffs — but it is not a general-ledger accounting package. Keep your accounting software for bills, payroll, and financial statements.

What does the agent do?

It works inside your dealership's data, with direct, governed access to your inventory, deals, customers, and accounts. It desks and restructures deals, answers questions from your real records, recommends pricing, and drafts follow-ups. Anything that changes a record needs your confirmation, and each dealership's data is isolated to that dealership.

Is the agent just a chatbot?

No. A chatbot sits beside an app and talks about it; the agent in DMS Agent works inside it. It has direct, governed access to your store's data — inventory, deals, customers, accounts — so it can do the actual work: desk a deal, generate the paperwork, audit a contract, rank the collections list. It asks before anything changes a record, and it works only inside your dealership's data.

What do I see when I log in?

Your Workspace: a ranked list of what to do first, covering aging vehicles, stuck deals, follow-ups due, paperwork problems, and fresh leads. The task at the top is the one that matters most.

How does DMS Agent catch mistakes?

You set your rules and policies, and every deal is checked against them before it is delivered. When something is wrong, a warning appears and a task shows up in your Workspace. Pricing and paperwork mistakes are caught early, and you can scan the printed copy of a deal with your phone to check it against the saved deal. Price changes, payments, and record edits are logged.

Is it available in Spanish?

Yes — the entire application is available in both English and Spanish, and each person on your team picks their own language. Bilingual teams can work side by side in the same dealership, each in the language they prefer.

Does it include a website for my inventory?

Yes. If you don't have a website, DMS Agent hosts a storefront for your dealership. If you already have one, your live inventory embeds into it. Either way your published inventory stays current automatically, pages are plain, crawlable HTML with structured data, built for SEO and AI search so shoppers can find your cars, and inquiries land in DMS Agent as leads with the vehicle attached.
